Life Story

Picture
Paul Rudatsikira came to the United States as a young child in the midst of the genocide in Rwanda (his native country) and the civil war in Burundi (the country where his family resided as Rwandan refugees). His family arrived in America with no income, savings or prospects, but with a vision from God which lead them to forgive and move into the future with faith, hope, and love. With two luggages for a family of six, they started their new life in America. With their own eyes, the Rudatsikira family witnessed God remove roadblocks, defy insurmountable odds and open closed doors.

Although Paul was raised in a Christian family with parents who have the most faith he has ever witnessed, it was at the age of 15 that God found Paul in doubt as he struggled with whether his beliefs were real or traditions rooted in myths. Lost in confusion and doubt, God found Paul and radically transformed his life when he placed his faith in the risen Jesus Christ. It was then that the living faith that his parents exemplified became a living reality in Paul's life and he began to truly know what it means to personally love, know, and follow Jesus Christ.

The love of Jesus Christ compelled and propelled Paul Rudatsikira on an adventure that has lead him to preach the gospel, serve the poor, and speak out against injustice. Paul has been a guest speaker to diverse churches and universities in the U.S. and abroad, including Harvard University, Princeton University, Yale University and Stanford University. Upon his graduation from the University of California, Riverside, Rudatsikira was chosen to give the Commencement Speech at the graduation ceremony.

Paul Rudatsikira believes deeply in the importance of both the proclamation and demonstration of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Love is the principle ethic for Rudatsikira who believes with the witness of Holy Scripture that "whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love" (1 John 4:8). Paul has a passion for building up young and old to experience the transforming love of Jesus Christ for what it is, as real for us today as it was for the cloud of witnesses that have gone before us living testimonies of what it means to walk by faith and not by sight.  Rudatsikira believes that God has placed us at a unique time in Earth’s history to be part of a vision that is God breathed, a calling that is Christ centered and a love that is life changing. He is in the process of making a series of short films on how Jesus Christ calls us to a paradigm shift in how we think and live. The first among these short films is called the Poor Rich Ruler. The film is about how Jesus Christ radically transforms how we view wealth, the poor and what really matters in life.  Here is the link to view it;
